FAO Project “Strengthening Vietnamese SPS capacities for trade: Improving safety and quality of fresh vegetables through the value chain approach” signed 07/04/2010

Hanoi, April 6th, 2010. Vice Minister of MARD Mr. Bui Ba Bong representing Vietnam's side and FAO Representative in Vietnam - Mr Andrew Speedy representing FAO's side singed the official document of FAO Project MTF/VIE/046/STF (STDF/PG/259) “Strengthening Vietnamese SPS capacities for trade: Improving safety and quality of fresh vegetables through the value chain approach” to be implemented by the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute (FAVRI) for two years (Jan 01, 2010 - Dec 31, 2011).

Current status of Thanh Tra Pummelo in Thua Thien Hue 22/05/2009

Thanh Tra pummelo is one of the special fruit produces of Thua Thien Hua which has become a symbol of Hue ancient capital. According to data by Hue Agricultural Research and Development Centre, the province has 1,114 ha under Thanh Tra pummelo cultivation, mainly distributed in Huong Tra, Phong Dien, Huong Thuy districts and Hue city. Thanh Tra pummelo has partly contributed to total revenue of local farmers in concentrated pummelo growing areas in the province. In the master plan of the province, Thanh Tra pummelo acreage would be expanded up to 1,400 ha in coming time.
